John (Mac) Hammond

B.S., Auburn University
M.S., Auburn University
Biography:
With over twenty years experience in agricultural research and development, Mac has provided commercial growers technical assistance solving a variety of agricultural problems ranging from fertility imbalances to weed control. His unique expertise in high-yield forages (16 scientific publications) and tree-crops allows him to design and implement effective wildlife habitat enhancement programs. Mac is a life-long hunter and his extensive experience in the outdoors further contributes to his ability to develop innovative habitat management programs that meet the needs of hunters and wildlife. He also is a life member of the NRA and member of Safari Club International (SCI). Mac is the senior scientist in charge of our habitat research projects, and he is currently working on several research projects related to hard and soft-mast production and forage variety trials. |
Max Watts

Education:
B.S., Wildlife Biology, Texas Tech
Biography:
After finishing college, Max guided hunts and was involved in management of deer property in the hill country west of San Antonio, Texas. He moved to Alabama in 1996 and has since been involved in development and management of trophy white-tailed deer property. Max’s extensive experience with intensively managed whitetail operations allows him to contribute valuable insight to our management services. Max currently manages the Sanctuary research facility in central Alabama. |
